Botulinum Toxin A (BOTOX®)
Botulinum Toxin A is the only FDA-approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow's feet in adults. See what real results can really look like.
Botulinum Toxin A is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults younger than 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary).
Also, it is a prescription medicine that is injected into the area around the side of the eyes to improve the look of moderate to severe crow's feet lines in adults for a short period of time (temporary).
Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It's not just about cellular changes, collagen depletion, or damage caused by free radicals. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow's feet.
The Botulinum Toxin A works beneath the skin's surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow's feet to form over time.
DID YOU KNOW?
According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, about 10 percent of all cosmetic procedures performed in the United States in 2012 were on men -- that is almost 1 million cosmetic procedures. The number of cosmetic procedures for men increased by 106% since 1997.
Botulinum Toxin A, is also for men. In clinical studies for moderate to severe frown lines, 17.5% of patients treated with Botulinum Toxin A, were men. In the clinical studies for moderate to severe crow's feet, male patients comprised approximately 10% of patients treated with the Botulinum Toxin A.
There has not been a confirmed serious case of spread of toxin effect away from the injection site when Botulinum Toxin A has been used at the recommended dose to treat chronic migraine, severe underarm sweating, blepharospasm, strabismus, or when Botulinum Toxin A has been used at the recommended dose to treat frown lines or crow's feet lines.
Do not take Botulinum Toxin A if you: are allergic to any of the ingredients in BOTOX® (see Medication Guide for ingredients); had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product such as Myobloc® (rimabotulinumtoxinB), Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA), or Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA); have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
